Software Development Engineer - Irvine, CA

Position Description

This is an organization that continuously pushing the limits of what’s possible within advanced algorithms, core platforms and user experience for Digital TV and set-top Box development.

Duties and Responsibilites

Develop world-class software for the digital-TVs, Handhelds, Blu-ray players and other devices
Create requirements specification, design software, implement, test and debug
Work with internal and external customers to explore product requirements and resolve challenging issues
Effectively communicate with global engineering teams

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science/Engineering
3-7 years (after BS) of related industry experience
Demonstrated ability to learn on the job
Development experience in C/C++
Development experience in Java or C#
Development experience with Android and or iPhone
Understanding of various software development tools and utilities: IDE, debugger, source control, bug tracking, etc.
Ability to multi-task effectively under considerable pressure of deadlines and easily adapt within a fast-paced environment

Other Desirable Traits

Working experience of web application frontend including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Flash
Working experience with dynamic web technologies Ajax, JQuery, Prototype, etc.
Solid knowledge of XML and JSON data formats
Web server development experience with one of the following: PHP, ASP, ASP.NET
Industry knowledge of new technology and standards: HTML5, WebKit, Streaming, Content and Rights management
