RF System Engineer-San Diego, CA

Position Description

Our client is looking for a strong RF Architects for their San Diego based Mobile Solutions Lab. The successful candidate will work as part of a team on the RF systems design of mobile solutions for GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/HSPA/LTE and other advanced wireless technologies. The RF Systems Engineer will work in a world-class research group and play a key role in driving research vision, as well as deliver tangible and high impact results to the Company’s product divisions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop RF system architecture
• Test cellular RF reference designs
• Design and develop radio system integration tests
• Support applications engineering and customer designs
• Collaborate with digital design team to ensure optimal system performance
• Work closely with the RFIC design team as well as modem system team

Qualifications

• MS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience. PhD preferred
• Hands-on experience in RF Systems design
• Expertise in RF systems design, integration, testing, debugging, information theory for cell phones and radios
• Knowledge of 3GPP Base Station RF specifications
• Must possess good analytical, problem solving and communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of GSM/WCDMA/HSPA/LTE standards
